Applying a Discount

Making a discount is the most common way of attracting customers and managing sales. Fortis POS App provides you a bunch of simple and flexible tools for managing discounts on the go. Let's see what we've got here!

Sale Discount​

Sale Discount is applied to the whole cart and modifies its total cost. To apply the Sale Discount:

  1. Log in to the Fortis POS App.
  2. Go to Sales.
  3. Hit New Sale and tap To Cart. You can also choose a previously created Sale from the list by tapping it.
  4. Once the Cart is opened, tap Add and select Discount
  5. Enter the discount Percentage and tap Save.
  6. The discount will appear in the top of the item list. Tap on it. To modify the discount, hit Edit. To remove the discount, tap on the red bin and hit Remove.

Item Discount​

Item Discount is applied to a single item in the Cart and modifies the cost of that item only. To apply the Item Discount:

  1. Log in to the Fortis POS App.
  2. Go to Sales.
  3. Hit New Sale and tap To Cart. You can also choose a previously created Sale from the list by tapping it.
  4. Once the Cart is opened, tap on the item in the list.
  5. Hit the button with three vertically-aligned dots, and tap Item discount.
  6. Enter the discount Percentage, or tap Amount and enter a fixed discount in AED. Tap Save.
  7. Once the Item Discount is applied, you may tap on the item and go to the Item Discount screen to modify it. To remove the Item discount, just enter 0% or AED 0, and tap Save.
